Stores, plants, vehicles, field equipment and connected devices. Whether you run ten locations or ten thousand, Krumware can help you build, deploy and manage software at every one of them.
Experts in Edge Computing
Software that runs where your business happens
What is Edge Computing?
Edge computing means running software close to where the work happens, instead of sending everything back to a datacenter or the cloud. That might be a small server in the back room of a store, a gateway on a factory floor, or a controller inside a piece of equipment. The hard part is rarely one device. It is keeping hundreds or thousands of them consistent, secure and up to date when nobody from IT is on site.
So what does edge computing mean to Krumware? These are the principles that guide our edge work:
Every Site Should Be the Same
Each location should run exactly what the others run, built from the same definition, so a fix made once applies everywhere.
Nobody Should Have to Drive Out
Updates, recovery and new applications should reach a site remotely. A truck roll should be the exception, not the plan.
Assume the Network Will Drop
Sites lose connectivity, run on cellular or satellite, or sit fully air-gapped. Software at the edge has to keep working either way.
The Edge Is Part of Your Platform
The same pipelines, tools and people that serve your datacenter and cloud should serve the edge too, instead of a separate world to staff.
Open Source Underneath
No vendor lock and no walled gardens. Every component should be replaceable, and you should own the code, the configuration and the data.
Edge Expertise
Retail and Distributed Operations
Platform deployments, proofs of concept and phased rollouts for retailers running applications in hundreds of stores.
Industrial and Energy
Edge infrastructure for industrial operations, including secure connectivity between remote sites and central management.
Industrial IoT and Connected Devices
Monitoring and control for equipment such as cold chain systems, building management and water infrastructure, from sensor to dashboard.
Device Provisioning
Hardware that sets itself up when it arrives on site, so new locations come online without a technician configuring each one.
Virtual Machines at the Edge
Existing virtual machines running beside containers on the same hardware, so older applications move to the edge platform with the new ones.
Edge Software Development
The applications themselves: device integrations, messaging, dashboards and the business software that uses the data your sites produce.
How We Help
We get in the trenches with you to provide hands-on implementation, software development, and skills enablement. We work across the stack, from the operating system on the device to the application your team uses every day.
Start an Edge Project
Have a use case and a device, but not a plan for rolling it out? We help you prove it on real hardware, then design the platform that takes it from one site to all of them.
Scale an Existing Fleet
Already have devices in the field? We help you bring them under central management, automate updates and provisioning, and get every location running the same way.
Build the Software
Need the application, not only the platform? Custom software is the core of our business, and we build the device integrations, services and dashboards that run on top.
Our Edge Delivery Process
Edge projects succeed or stall on the first few devices. We start small and real, then automate what works so it repeats at every site.
Start With One Device
We work out what a site needs to run, which hardware it runs on, and how it connects. Then we prepare the operating system and prototype your real workload on a real device, not a slide.
Define the Site as Code
We describe what every location should look like in files your team can review: the device image, the applications and the configuration. Changes are reviewed and rolled back the way your developers handle code.
Automate Provisioning and Rollout
We set up the central management, device provisioning and delivery pipelines that push applications and updates to every site from one place, starting with a small group and expanding in phases.
Hand Over and Support
We hand over the infrastructure as code and image definitions, train your team on the running system, and stay on to support and improve it as your fleet grows.
Open Source at the Edge, With SUSE Edge
We recommend tools based on what your sites need, and we work with whatever you already run. When a customer needs a complete, supported edge stack, SUSE Edge is often where we start. It brings an immutable operating system, lightweight Kubernetes, and Rancher for managing every site from one console, and SUSE Industrial Edge connects the equipment already on your floor.
Rancher has been a fundamental part of our practice for over 8 years, and we were an early implementer of SUSE's edge provisioning tools. To get started quickly, Rancher Accelerate for Edge is our fixed-fee jumpstart: send us a device, and we prepare it, prototype your workload, implement the platform, and train your team.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. We work with the tools you already have and recommend what fits your sites. SUSE Edge is often a strong fit when you want a complete, supported stack, and we know it well, but our edge work is built on open source and stays portable.
Yes. Many projects start with an existing fleet. We look at what is running today, bring those sites under central management, and move them onto a consistent setup in phases so nothing goes dark.
Yes. We design for sites on cellular, satellite or no connection at all. Applications keep running locally, and updates and data sync when a connection is available. Fully air-gapped environments are supported too.
Both. Custom software development is the core of our business. We build device integrations, messaging between devices and the cloud, dashboards, and the business systems that use your site data.
